Fluke 280 Series True-rms Logging Multimeter with TrendCapture
Fluke 280 Series True-rms Logging Multimeter with TrendCapture

The market’s best multimeters just got better

The new 280 Series: designed for those who need the best

The new Fluke 287/289 true-RMS digital multimeters were designed for those of you at the top of your field. The instruments replace our popular 180 Series, with all the same features, plus more.

The two multimeters perform advanced unattended data logging, and show trend data on screen without having to download to a PC. TrendCapture helps engineers and technicians track down problems faster during (for example) preventive and predictive maintenance.

An extra-large screen shows results graphically, backed by an enhanced user interface with on-board help (i-info key) available in seven languages, and soft-key interface. Both meters can log multiple sessions unattended in the field, with logged readings being reviewed without a PC. Both come with a lifetime warranty.

Key features of the Fluke 287/289:
  • 0.025% DC accuracy, 100 kHz
  • AC bandwidth
  • Large 50,000 count, 1/4 VGA dot matrix display
  • Data logging function with expanded memory
  • TrendCapture allows you to graphically review logged readings right on the meter, without needing a PC. Store, up to 15,000 readings over time
  • Advanced Min/Max/Average – all the data on one screen, with start and elapsed time
  • "i" button – provides on-board function help
  • Lifetime warranty
In addition, the Fluke 289 features:
  • Two terminal 50 Ω range with 1 mΩ resolution, 10 mA
  • Low Pass filter for accurate voltage and frequency measurements on adjustable speed motor drives
  • LoZ Volts. Low impedance voltage function for eliminating ghost voltages

The two Fluke instruments feature a large 50,000-count, 3-1/2 inch quarter-VGA dot matrix display that can show multiple measurement sets. The screen also features a white backlight with 2 positions, and displays context-sensitive on-board help screens. The instrument setup is customizable to save time and increase productivity. Multiple save options and automatic time stamping allow convenient recall of field measurements, while a PC interface ensures easy data transfer. Optional FlukeView® Forms PC software enables users to document, store and analyze readings, and then convert them into professional-looking reports.

Measure true-rms voltage and current

Fluke’s new meters store up to 15,000 readings. For accurate measurement on non-linear signals, they can measure true-rms voltage and current. They have a 50 mF capacitance range, and measure up to 10 A (or 20 A for 30 seconds). Peak capture can record transients as fast as 250 microseconds. A relative mode removes test lead resistance from low ohms or capacitance measurements. Both meters have a battery life of 200 hours.

The Fluke 287/289 has an ac bandwidth of 100 kHz, and a 0.025% basic dc accuracy. It includes a temperature function.

Fluke multimeters are known for their ruggedness, life time warranty, safety ratings, product life time and low total cost of ownership.

The Fluke 287/289 meters withstand hazardous 8,000 V spikes caused by load switching and faults on industrial circuits, and complies with second edition IEC and ANSI electrical safety standards. It diagnoses problems in electronics, plant automation, power distribution and electromechanical equipment.
